Your humble corespondent

My name is Adam Leavelle. I’ve been a professional wrestling fan since I was eight years old, and in the third grade. It all started one day when my family moved into a new home. My dad called me out to the kitchen, where he was watching our smaller TV, and he had on The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) on Superstation WTBS, from Atlanta Georgia. I stood there looking at these men, in tights, toss each other around, and I wasn’t interested. He chuckled, as I walked away kind of dumbfounded at what I had just seen.



 The following week, my dad had wrestling on again, and something caught my attention. It was a huge man, with wild, crazy, hair, all over the place, and a chain around his neck. He proceeded to come to the ring and beat two men down as if they were rag dolls! I was intrigued. I had never seen anything like this. When the man went to the podium to talk, he barked like a dog, and Gordon Solie (the announcer at the time) seemed legitimately afraid of this man. Suddenly, I was very interested in professional wrestling! This wasn’t what I had seen last week! This was fun, this was crazy, this was exciting!

So began my, at this point, thirty-six year love affair with wrestling! You’ll find that I lean heavily toward that style, to this day. I watched, and enjoyed the WWE(F), but never as much as the NWA. I was never into over the top “sports entertainment” and to this day, I absolutely hate comedic wrestling. Yes, humor can be used in wrestling, but I’m with Jim Cornette who says “Funny don’t draw money.” It certainly doesn’t draw my money.

Now that you know a little bit about me, I hope you will understand why this site will only cover independent, or “indy” pro wrestling. My Facebook page will continue to cover ALL wrestling, including WWE and TNA. If you join us there, you’re free to post news that you find interesting, and any comments on wrestling, that you want to post at all!

I’m not going to breakdown matches here (I do that at times on the Facebook Page) and I’m not going to advertise shows here (I do that on Facebook and Twitter). I’m going to write opinion pieces, post interview’s I have with wrestlers, bookers, owners, etc. and comment on current news, angles, and hot button wrestling topics of the day. I may even post some YouTube videos, commentating on current wrestling issues.
